A little throwback to a few years ago when I dragged Laura and Laura into a poppy field in Normanby for a gorgeous early evening photoshoot 😍 I made a cute fluffy tulle skirt, cropped bustier and lace bardot top for this shoot. ![]()

Hi everyone! It's been a while since I showed my mug on the page and told you all a bit about myself, so I thought I'd do just that!![]()

I've been running The Party Frock for over 15 years now, and I have loved (mostly) every minute of it. Making wedding dresses is an absolute dream of a job! ![]()

I started out sewing as a child, making outfits for my Barbies and destroying all of the sewing machines that I came into contact with. ![]()
![]()
I always enjoyed Art and Textiles at school and pursued a Design qualification at college, specialising in Fashion. I then went on to university and studied a degree in fashion, including a placement year, firstly working in soft furnishings and then working for Adams childrenswear (anyone remember it?) as a graphic designer. ![]()

After graduating, I knew I didn't want to be just a designer, I loved making things more than I loved the design process. I returned to my soft furnishings job and did a bit of dressmaking on the side, including making my best friend Jess' wedding dress, fresh out of uni in 2004.![]()

I stayed at the shop making curtains and blinds and spending all of my wages on fabric, until it finally closed its doors in 2009. That's when The Party Frock was born. ![]()

I started off with bridesmaid dresses, which quickly escalated into wedding dresses. ![]()
![]()
I love the pattern making process, it's always been one of my favourite aspects of the overall sewing process. I pride myself on drafting all of my patterns from scratch. I takes a bit of fitting, but it ensures that all of my gowns and outfits fit perfectly and are truly unique to my customer. ![]()

I decided to add sewing teacher to my job description in 2015 when I took on a teaching course, then started running Sew With The Party Frock classes in 2016. ![]()

I have been so lucky over the years to have worked with some awesome people, customers and other wedding suppliers alike, and I look forward to meeting lots of new customers and wedding suppliers to work with in the future! ![]()

When I'm not making beautiful gowns or teaching sewing classes I love running, reading and hanging out with friends and family (usually when food is involved). This year I am hoping to take part in a triathalon.![]()
